POPAI RESEARCH IN SA

POPAI SA LAUNCH AGGRESSIVE IN DRIVING GENERATION OF INSIGHTS LOCALLY

The majority of those in attendance at the 2007 POS Conference cited research as the key output needing to be executed by the POPAI SA chapter.

Interestingly enough, very few quantified exactly what research they were looking for from this industry body.

Internationally we have seen the likes of PRISM and MARI research proposals taking form. They all are about making media more measurable and giving depth to shopper-based marketing through the creation of a tool for measuring instore shopper reach.

Locally, AC Nielsen is also looking into the development of “Shopping Modality Scope”, intended to provide insights into category dynamics and effective ways to activate shoppers consuming those categories.

So…against the backdrop of those initiatives, what do you believe are the needed instore insights which would add value to your day to day decision-making when making use of instore advertising?

As an industry body, it is imperative that POPAI SA reverts with a research strategy truly mirroring the needs of its stakeholders.
